Indreptarul ortografic, ortoepic si de punctuatie este o lucrare de larg interes, care se adreseaza atat elevilor, studentilor si profesorilor, cat si ziaristilor din presa scrisa si audiovizuala, redactorilor din edituri, scriitorilor, traducatorilor, precum si tuturor celor ce doresc sa vorbeasca si sa scrie corect romaneste.
Prezenta editie a lucrarii, a cincea, in care se aplica "Hotararea Adunarii generale a Academiei Romane [...] privind revenirea la «a» si «sunt» in grafia limbii romane", a fost elaborata la Institutul de Lingvistica "Iorgu Iordan" din Bucuresti si a fost aprobata de Sectia de Filologie si Literatura a Academiei Romane.
